How safe Is your Ford Car

Active Safety:

The new Mondeo features a number of significant new active safety technologies to watch over the vehicle and help prevent accidents from happening.

Ready to react are the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, which constantly monitors tyre pressure and sounds a warning if it falls. Run Flat Tyres which assists you to drive safely if a puncture occurs. (Optional)

Then there’s the Adaptive Front Lighting System (standard on Titanium X) which lets you see around corners and Bi-Xeon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps (optional on Zetec and above), twice as bright as standard Halogen lights, so others are sure to notice your presence.

Intelligent Protection System:

A host of new features have been integrated in the new Mondeo's Intelligent Protection System (IPS). Beneath the steel safety cages lies a comprehensive airbag system all ready to spring into action in a fraction of a second.

State of the art airbags, three point seatbelts allround, optimised pre tensioners and load limiters, advance steering system, anti submarining seatframes and pedals and improvements to the neck injury protection system provide all occupants with a highly comprehensive safety system.

Roll Over Protection Device (RPD):

The Focus Coupe Cabriolet’s Roll Over Protection Device provides powerful protection for you and your passengers, but you’ll never know it’s there. Neatly hidden from view, it can deploy ultra strong rollover bars to shield you in milliseconds.

Euro NCAP Safety:

Best ever score for a right hand drive vehicle.
Galaxy’s rating is in fact the highest score for a right hand drive car that Euro NCAP has ever seen. It also notched up excellent totals for front and side impact tests. Together with Focus and the recently tested S Max, Ford now offers three vehicles that have achieved Euro NCAP’s maximum 5 star rating for adult protection, and with 2 stars and 15 points Galaxy also achieved a very competitive result for pedestrian protection.

The Ford Ranger is equipped with a series of advanced safety features.

Safety features include:

Front and passenger airbags

Front seat side airbags (available on XLT and Thunder)

Anti submarining front seats

Height adjustable front seat head restraints

Two height adjustable rear seat head restraints on Double Cab

Child proof rear door locks on Double Cab

Collapsible steering column

Elevated command driving position

Large exterior mirrors for enhanced rearwards vision

State of the art body strength:

Improved body strength combined with lightweight impact technology makes the all new Ford Focus one of the safest cars on the road. The high strength steel cabin includes laser welded panels surrounded by energy absorbing zones, cross beams, and reinforcements. An advanced chassis safety system allows components to move under the floor in the event of an impact.

ISOFIX child seats:

An ISOFIX child seat can be specially attached to the rear row seating with reinforced anchor points. The seat is still removable, but is anchored to the body structure of the car improving child safety. It also means that installing the seat is easier and less open to mistakes. An ISOFIX child seat is certified to be the safest option for use in the Ford Focus.

A child seat should never be placed in the front seat when the vehicle is equipped with an operational front passenger airbag. The safest place for children is properly restrained in the rear seat.
